I dont understand the apex bar thing because in 06 they had a recall on them. The grips would'nt wrap all the way down around the hooks. So they said you would loose your heat out the hooks..

To me the funny part of the hand "warmer" thing is the control. We have 9 or 10 positions to adjust, has anyone actually used anything other than off or max. Other than of course to see if maybe running them on 8 or 9 will help. It's a joke how bad they are and they fact that we still get a 9 or 10 position adjuster. Good thing I can dial the heat between -20 and 0. Sorry but I really thinkn they need to step up and get this resolved. It doesn't even have to happen for my sled, just change it for the next model release, enough is enough.

I just tried the foam in a can trick. Today riding at -19 degrees C, the warmers were hot enough that they could have been turned down a notch. I used the spray foam for window frames as it doesnt expand as much. The hole in the end of the grips is the perfect size to fit the straw in. This may not be the best solution but it definately helps. Well worth the 8 dollars.

Thanks for the report nytro111. I like seeing some positive results feedback! I'll foam mine tomorrow for use this weekend. Simple and stock both appeal to me.

Please keep us posted. I like the idea and do not want to tear apart my sled.

I just got off my Nitro for the first time an 08 I bought used, the guy I bought it from told me the warmers were great and they were, they are stock and never a problem, it was 18 here and I could only stand them on 3 bars, I tried them on 6 bars for a couple mins just to make sure they go hotter and I almost had to stop and let them cool off, After this it is obviously not a universal problem and must be a defective part problem or a wiring problem as some of us have sleds that the warmers are great. Sorry for U guys with the defective warmers but it is not a case that Yamaha designed a crappy warmer, just a manufacturing problem that some are just not working right....

My 09 fx has real good warmers. I foam insulated the bar as I do on all my sleds.Once they get warm just turn them down.Got the plugs for the end of the handbars at Lowes.

Does it matter what kind of foam you use? I saw the DAP and the Great Stuff and my local Hardware store, the DAP is lower expansion. Thanks.

I talked to the guy especially about the warmers and he told me he has never had a problem with them they work great, when I told him lots of people have had problems with them he was surprised as 2 other people in his family have Nitro's and none have had any problems with them... defective parts.....have to be.. wish yammi would figure this out as it is obviously giving them a black eye...

I see Yami did something for the 2010 sleds hand warmers. Not sure what. Are they doing any offers to fix the crapy hand warmers on the 08 09 Nytro's. Does the foam really work that well? Sounds like a good idea.
