I was up in Canada for our annual trip this past week. We had above average temps and rain for 2 days, the the temps dropped back to normal. I was worried about the condensation issue on the relays. When I went out to start the sled in the morning, sure enough, it cycled through the typical electronic display but would not turn over...meaning no starter. I tried a few times and sat there anticipating the disassembly process. I gave it one more try and the starter engaged and started up normally. Would this have been the starter relay or the fuel pump relay. I don't believe I heard the fuel pump priming, but then again, I had my helmet on. The sled was fine for the rest of the trip.
If it didnt prime its the fuel pump relay.

Will it even turn over if it doesn't prime?
relay
Yes, when it happened to me I turned her over afew times. I gess in your case it could have been the starter relay. My fuel pump relay didnt work at -21, went out at -18 and good to go.

One COLD morning last season my sled would go through the prime up phase but the engine would not turn over. The starter relay was bad. After about 20 clicks the relay caught and the engine fired over and started right up. For the rest of the day it was fine. Over the summer I would try to crank it but again no start. Again a few clicks and the relay would catch.
Yesterday I replace the starter relay that is located under the air box on the throttle side of the engine compartment with a new one. One thing I noticed was that the male brass contacts on the old relay itself was very corroded compared to the new one The male brass contacts on the old one were green with what looked to be corrosion compared to the new one. I installed the new relay and all is good. I bet that I could have used the old relay if I had just cleaned up the male contacts. I advise you to check your contacts on your starter relay. They are probably just corroded and not making a good electrical connection.

Sounds good. I wish they were easier to get to. I just had everything off when I did the donuts.

Fuel pump relay is the 4th out from gas tank...get yourself a spare 1 and keep it on you, cheap to buy and good insurance!
