alternate source for Yamaha screws

I am not sure what tools come with other sleds but i use the back side of my spark plug socket for the hex bolts on the phazer.

Quite possible mine has the 10mm socket too, just haven't used it a lot since I usually take the panels off in the garage. BTW, noticed that Phazers has all bolts for the panels. My Venture has Dzus 1/4 turn fasteners with handles for the top panels and a combination of allen head Dzus and bolts for the bottom panels. Wish they were all Dzus. So much easier and quicker.

The Phazer has the quarter turn with the handle for the clutch side panel and the quarter turn Allen head for the battery/oil tank side. The rest is the hex bolts. Unless it changed after 2009.

I agree, it would be easier and quicker if they where all Dzus.

Looked at a 2007 Phazer for sale and I thought I saw all hex head bolts, which would have been a PITA to remove to check.

Checkout the skid plate mounting bolts used on the late model Yamaha Grizzly ATVs. There are two different ones, one has a longer shank than the other where it goes through 2 skids rather than one. Both are readily available at your Yamaha ATV dealer and both have 10mm heads.

So I assume that these have hex heads? The short shank looks similar to the Phazer unit.

I'm gonna have to check on my Venture which are the hex and allen headed bolts. From what I can tell from the microfiche, both upper covers are Dsus with handles, clutch side middle cover are Dzus with handles, battery side middle cover are Dzus with either hex or allen heads and both small lower covers are hex bolts but I do remember that the rear bolt that holds the lower covers to the footwell are stainless allen headed bolts. Not sure though if they have a shank or not.

Yes, 10mm hex heads.

Out of curiosity, do the Phazer screws work (head clearance) in other places where the hood over laps? Like in the gas tank cover?

Cannondale, Those are trick. Does WC sell their skid plate screws by themselves? It didnt see the screws listed in their catalog. If so, can you tell me the following dimensions of the screws?

Head diameter?
Shoulder diameter?
Shoulder length?
Thread size?
Thread length?

Thanks, G.B.
