Well we got out on Tues and Wed of this week for the first time. My previous sled was an 04 REV 800.
On Wednesday we put on 190 miles and I did not experience the wet boot syndrome, we were riding on mostly groomed/ semi groomed trails but also about 20 miles on ungroomed back woods type trails with about 18 inches of snow. I also was not dissapointed with the hand warmers. The temp was about 15F above and by the time we got home at 11:00 P.M. it was below zero. I wear a pair of Yamaha team gloves, my hands were toasty warm throughout. I should also mention that I put on the taller windshield which really helps a lot.

I just plain love this sled. It soaks up bumps better than the REV in my opinion and after 190 miles in one day I was not beat up at all. With my REV I could hardly walk the next day as my legs were bent at such a severe angle all the time and I like to stand up a lot. The mid-range power is awesome, I did not open it up yet so I can't comment on the top end. The sled sits a little higher and it took me a little time to adjust but once I did it was just fine. Gas mileage is much better, I don't have to pull a rope (My Rev did not have electric start) I don't have to bring spare injector oil, etc. So far I am sold on Yamaha! My dealer who also sells Doo's said he has a list of angry customers who snowchecked REV XP's because he has not received the shipment yet due to all the issues they are having with them. I don't care if the REV was 200 pounds lighter I would not go back to two stroke technology at this point. While the sled is not perfect for everyone - Yamaha has hit a home run in my opinion. :4STroke:

Dude...... I agree a 100% what you said about this sled. It rocks and will continue to rock, evn as time goes on. Those suckers that went with the new XP's have gotta be pissed. They could have had a better sled in my opinion, if they just bought a 08 Nytro. You wait, this sled will bring more snowmobilers over to Yamaha then ever.

Granted, anything is likely to have a few issues, but most guys (and gals) here are uber picky. Much of the stuff you hear on this site are just people passionate about perfecting every little detail. I'm sure there isn't amanifacturer out there that will sell you something that is 100% perfect. We will always "tweak" things to our liking.
The main thing about Yamaha that I love is the fact that all the "squalks" that I have with Yamaha are far from being deal breakers. I don't know if I've heard of anybody who has been stranded on a Yamaha for somehing more than a blown belt..

Turn the key and go!
