I am in need of a new helmet. I like the modular style and am not a fan of the open face with goggles. I have been looking into the Ski Doo Modular 2, Modular 3 and also the BV2S. I will get an electric shield with the helmet I purchase, regardless of which one I get. (not concerned about fogging, but in IOWA sometimes I am riding in freezing rain or mist). To those who are using these, what do you like and dislike about them? Thank you in advance!

Got the same problem, have hjc piece of s.... one I like GMAX they come with double shield with option of electric shield. Shoie is nice
very expensive.

The wife and I both run GMax. Love em. No problems, plenty of vents never fogs with the electric visor. Beautiful thing is when you stop to talk you only have to flip up the front. Great if you smoke and or need a road pop on those chilly days.
Forgot to mention built in visor works awesome on those sunny days crossing lakes. No more burning eyes from squinting.

I like the bv2s. It took a while to figure out how to position the mask. At first I had it too tight on my face and it would leak in different places. You can tell it's on right, if you breathe in and out really fast, you feel the valves working and a split second of pressure. When you have it right it works great. Took me a couple of rides to figure it out.

love my bv2s and the only time i plug in my shield is in freezing rain/mist. always warm built in visor im on my second one handed down the old one to the wife with 15000 miles on it. wide field of vision. light on back is above the snow dust so rider behind you can see you.dis like they cost a lot but if you get at a snow show like i did they are about 350.and i think 400 with heated shield option. didnt have heated shield on first one and it was great at not fogging just the few freezing mist days .

BV2S all the way. Super quiet! Zero wind gets in there so it is much warmer as well. First hour or so feels like you're in a fish bowl, but that feeling goes away and you hardly notice it. It does get warm on warmer days. Only problem I had was snow on a warm day tends to melt on the shield. Bounces off when it's cold. Had many modular helmets including HJC IS Max most recently. Got tired of being tethered to the sled and the electric shields generally only last me the better part of 2 seasons.

I was sold on my BVS2.

My son and son in law as well as a friend have the GMAX 64s and love it for 1/2 the money with e shield.

I love my BVS2. I did have an air leak last season which I need to track down. An air compressor should help track that down... The only thing I would warn about is the screws. Mine came loose on the trailer last year and got lost in the snow. Had to rip my sun shield apart for its screws and hit up the nearest skidoo dealer. I recommend adding a couple to your spare parts kit. Other than that, it's been a great helmet. Never fogs, very comfortable and you can drop the face mask easily to talk and stay warm! If you are in freezing rain, you will want a heat shield. I've only rode once in those conditions with this helmet and it was obnoxious without a heat shield.
