I have an 08 RS Venture GT with 3500km & am concerned with hyfax wear. In the manual it says to measure the hyfax & the minimum thickness is 10.5mm. My question is what was the thickness when the hyfax was new? At the thinnest my hyfax is 14mm or so & I would like to know if I should just go ahead & replace the hyfax or if it would be good for another season.

Sounds like you are good to go for another year. A new one is slightly under 15 mm.

New ones are just under 18mm, use an open end metric wrench to measure thickness, I bring mine down to 11mm as a min. The first 3 to 4mm or so tends to wear out fast then they really slow down and seem to go for ever...
