Another ride review of the Viper...LTX SE

It's true, you really do need to ride one.

It was great too meet and ride with you as well.

Glad to hear its good enough to convince a nay sayer that makes my decision to snow check one untried a good one.

Thanks for taking the time to post the pix's and the write up, it's nice to hear some good things about this sled. I just knew they would be so much better than so many had slammed it for, before even riding it or seeing it.

Im sure they are not purfect but this is a great start to a great looking sled and all those guys that are snow checking them are going to have a BLAST RIDING THEM
:sled1:

I look forward to riding mine next season. Thanks for the review DoktorC

Doktorc
At least you were able to ride one.
I have been trying to find a ride on this platform for a while and can't find a/or dealers with demo sleds. I don't care if its a four stroke or turbo or 800 (Cats). I want to see what the platform feels like, I have a Nytro and know what the engine can do. I would like to try 137 and 141s. 129 is not enough track for our part of the world and the torque that engine makes.
I am most interested in the handeling of the 141 with the uncoupled suspension mostly because I don't want to buy a 137 and track it.

I am feeling more confident I made right move with everyone I have talked to who has actually ridden one.I based my decision on riding a AC and thinking Yamaha could only make it better. Seems was true. Thanks for posting !

x2, I snow check tomorrow but I am still not sure which one 129 or 137

I got to ride the 141 viper and then get on my nytro XTX and ride the same trail...you'll appreciate the Viper ten fold if you get the chance to do it. The Viper is so much more fun to ride! Took corners faster, flatter and with a pile more confidence.

And with the nytro motor, I can't wait to pull the throttle

I feel the same as you doktorc, I want to hate it but i know I have to ride one first. I love the red/black se, that's my favorite one.

The tough part is to let go of some of the brand loyalty that has been drilled into us (by ourselves) to hate/dislike the "competition"....this isn't that far off when Yamaha caved in '97 and made trailing arm sleds. All of a sudden we all knew that the Polaris guys had something good all along. Now, I realize this is a bigger departure but if you take the blue goggles off and put your snowmobiler goggles on and really look at how the sled works it is quite impressive. I truely hope that it holds together and lives up to our level of expectation durability wise...if it does it'll be a wicked combo.

Personnally I still can't live without the 4cyl power so I'll likely be on an EPS Apex sooner than later....but the Viper is VERY close to outshining my need for lake power....
