first 4 stroke last year a 06 apex gt. with the older sleds I've always had never noticed huge dif between skis. the apex was bone stock and the weight/heavy steering was unbelievable.had to let springs down in front until they were 2 inch slack to be able to hang on, which handled terrible. tried the shim trick, even worse. finally bought snostuff pilot type skis. they have a raised middle kind of having 3 keels with sgags on outer 2. leaving a much more flat pattern in snow than pilots. they completely cured the heany steer and darting, even with springs cranked up. but do push a fair amount cornering. would easily say I took a few last minute detours when unable to corner. figure now that I have an xtx the apex can be the cruiser.
tried my buddies 09 nytro shorty with factory settings and would say the heavy steering is not half as bad with the nytro and the xtx being longtrack should be even less darty. I thought maybe with the xtx I would try to mod the skis with the slp keel plates seen. dug out my apex skis and realized they are identical. so thought I'd mod those and keep xtx skis new on shelf. would also like to add that I,m sure dullies would help, dont like the idea of pushing them around all day.
then a few days ago I picked up an xlt for parts. had the near new simmons flex skis on it. other than chasing mount hole out a c-hair, the went right on. looks like all I need is different rubbers.
just looking for a little input on all that

those are not sno stuff they are Simmons flex skis and they are the best ski I have found to put on a Yamaha. I have 3 sets on mine and will out handle anybody on the trails. My 1 tons can even go into ungroomed snow and float.

the one seen mounted on apex next to simmons is snostuff TCS. got them cheap through my distributer. the simmons I'm pretty happy to have just picked up. got an XLT with seized engine for $300. HAD BRAND NEW SIMMONS AND 1.5 PREDETOR
Sorry I couldn't see the other ski I'm on my blackberry sometimes the screens a bit small for the pics
