another studding question

I want to stud the center and outside of the track..I just can corner a whole heck of a lot harder with this set up...I also like the idea of the double backers and tall nuts....does this mean I have to drill 192 holes or can I somehow still do 144 which I prefer.-

Your not going to be able to use doubles and also stud the out side with only 144. Let me rephrase that, you shouldn't as you would have to either move the singles tothe outside or skip a row of doubles and move them to the out side or ....... you get the idea. If you want them on the outside I think you'll have to go all singles. That or use 192.

Don't the outside have more of a tendancy to fling off after a while? I have never studded the outside. This is something I heard????

I studded the outside on my last sled and luckily did not have any rip out, but I have heard of it happening. Those outside studs don't have much support ,plus, you'll like the rigidity of the double backers if you just stud up the middle.

Keep in mind your last sled was a light-weight, under-powered 600. I remember you saying that with your Paragon you couldn't spin the track. that would definently help track life.

If your fairly hard on tracks or the conditions you ride in can be less than favorable I would avoid the outside.

I would be careful. I did alot of research before studding mine and everybody said not to stud the outside. enclosed is mine with 144 up the middle. and it hooks up well and brakes much better. and as for cornering I think studding the outside may make the sled flip instead of slip. Just my two cents.

i ran 144 on the outside for years and ride very aggresive in the corners when i replaced my track i salvaged 96 from the old track and ran them up the middle on my new track and it was night and day i couldn't come into the corners hard ....it was a confidence thing just had to slow her down comin into the corners....thats why i like studding the outside....as for tipping theres a threshold that only you know how hard u can push it before u go solo....
