I'm thinking of replacing my studs with a longer 1.450 stud. I have a 1.25 ripsaw with 144 down the center and they are all double backers. Has anyone poked a hole in there heat exchanger with this combo.

I ran it for about 2000 miles, all down the center on a 1.352" track. Didn't have a single problem and zero contact with the heat exchanger. I was running my track really loose for a while too, after it stretched...which was risky I know.
Keep your track tight, and you'll be fine.

Is it worth all the work.
How much better will it hook-up.

If you are just trail riding, I wouldn't go through the work and spend the money to go to a slightly longer stud, if the studs that are already in the track are still good.
If you want to start doing some ice racing, or feel you need more traction on ice, then you'll probably like it.
I was happy with the traction I got with the 1.325 studs in the 1.25 track. Just enough to keep me under control.

1.325 just do all about that, which aint't much IMO.... I had both and 1.450 puts the power to the ground and you will feel the difference. It's that much better.... It's worth the switch.

I am in the process of rebuilding my motor right now because my track got to loose and punched a hole in the exchanger I was running the 1.4 length in my opinion it's not worth it but as long as the track was tight they worked great
