Anyone else see this in Supertrax for the 2010 Nytro?
An 'anti-engine braking' feature has been added that makes this engine feel like it's a 2-stroke when you back out of the throttle. Basically, a small valve apparatus allows air to enter the EFI system when the throttle is released and instead of the 4-stroke "pitch you over the handlebars" feeling on slowdown, you freewheel and can use the brakes to scrub speed - just like a 2-stroke.
I wonder if it could be easily adapted to the 08 and 09 sleds?

UM, it's already on your Nytro. That was one of the selling features that was pointed out to us when we rode the demo sleds. It reduces it, but doesn't eliminate it.

They talk about it like its something new for 2010. I have an 08 which I know has some engine braking but not as bad as other 4 strokes.

Engine Braking
It is on the 09's for sure
Only change for 10's is removable wheel bearings and better handwarmers after talking to the Yamaha dealer.
Oh plus new colours

i have never hear or formally read anything about it but i think that the front suspensions may have been revised again in '10... when you compare the '09 and '10 side by side on the Yamaha website, you find it states that the '09 has Next generation FX-style independent where as the '10 says FXG2.. i don't know if there is a definite difference there but would be interested to find a yah or nah..

Before I got my Nytro I had the chance to ride my buddies Rage. The engine breaking was the first thing I noticed after getting off my Sabercat. I thought it was great when I first got on the throttle.... loved the 4 stroke torque. It was when I let off the gas that I realized what engine breaking was. Scary when standing and not expecting it.
I find my Nytro to be nothing like this at all. There is a little but nothing like the first 4 strokes.

I think I will miss the old jake on my Warrior, you could hold the throttle longer going into the corner, chop the gas, tap the brake then get back on it, mean while my lawnboy buddies (artic cat) are blow'n the corner cause they where looking for brake lights!
