Seriously need some of these and have been looking around, seems like the cheapest place is www.mountainperformance.com. Is this a reliable site and does anybody know how reliable the drivers are from this site?? Also I'm looking for advice on cutting windows out of a stock rx-1 mountain track. Can I just cut the windows out and use it like that or do I need clips?? Someone told me a while back that I wouldn't need clips but it seems like I would to be safe.

No experience with the mountain performance drivers(I have the ski -doo ones)But I have been running the stock track with the windows cut out and no clips added for years with zero problems.

You would need a shop press to install them. There's a sticky in the mod results section with part numbers for the doo drivers. They're not available anymore individually but you might find a dealer that has some sitting around still.I'm sure the mountain performance ones would be fine.

I haven't tried MPI's extroverts but have purchased several other items from them (Supercharger, 162" track and ext kit, a-arms, transfer enhancement kit etc.....) with no issues.

ok... so would you advise putting the clips on the newly cut windows?? A few people say it doesn't matter.

Those look like Wahl Bros antiratchets. They work fine if you don't run them too loose . You'll need to stay with the 8 tooth to run the 2'' track and I don't think the Skidoo drivers are made in 8 tooth.

What he said. Also should mention that I cut my lugs down to 1.5(I ride trails)to run the 9tooth drivers. When I cut my windows I used a track drill in all four corners of each window then cut with utility knife and wd-40.I did this so I wouldn't get any intersecting cuts that could rip.givemeaboost said:Those look like Wahl Bros antiratchets. Ok... so I need 8 tooth drivers. What pitch? About the tightness of the track, it will always be tightened to the specs in the manual if I can help it. GUKROKIT, why did you use WD-40 with a utility knife?

If you use the rx1 track it is a 2.52 pitch. You don't need to be super tight unless you're running boost.

wd-40 made it easier to cut the rubber especially when I was cutting the lugs down.Helps the metal blade slide thru the rubber.

As far as track tightness goes,I would run it as loose as you can without ratcheting. One of the biggest benefits of the anti ratchets is being able to loosen your track.Once you do it you will feel the difference since it will roll much easier and free up some power.I also recommend the transfer enhancement kit from mountain performance($50).In addition I would drill a hole higher and slightly forward in your rear drop bracket and mount your skid there. You can tell where to drill by looking at the existing holes.Once you do this your front will come up and out of the snow very easily, steering effort is reduced, sled will feel way lighter.Gets rid of the submarine effect that the stocker has.Cheap(or free) mods that make a big difference. Then there's wider skis. The mods never end

I don't have the budget atm to buy any parts besides what I really need. As for the submarine effect I've never experienced this with mine my nose is always stuck up out of the powder. My buddie's mxz pushes more snow then my 1 ton. On a side note, wouldn't I need to drill a new hole up forward as well?? I have the mountain skis from yamaha, they do me justice, just extremely cutty in crusty snow.
