OK Im running 9 tooth I'll look for the piece of carboard I made the sketch on when I get home tonight.
Before I press theses 10's on and put it all back together, is there any way you can do some measuring with yours together with 9's and give an idea if the 10's will clear? Thanks!!!
Ryan

I don't think that the 10's will fit from looking at it thats forsure.
Clearance from the extrovert lug points to the rail tips is the issue?
Not that it prob matters, but Im running a 1" track so cooler clearanace isnt my concern at all.
What if I shave down the extro tips a bit and modify/shorten the rail tips? Please PM me if you can Turbo....thanks!

The 10 tooth extrovert compared to the std yami 9's are exactly 1/2" larger or closer to the cooler. The extrovet tips just barely clear the track windows and clips so Im not really worried about the extro tips hitting the rails at this point.
So as far as the cooler is concerned, it looks like with 10 tooths and a 1" track, Im right where the guys with 1.5 tracks and 9 tooths are. I guess that would force me to remove the aluminum cooler protectors---right?
The stock 1.25 and 9 tooths allow approx 1/4" clearance above the windows--that could be notched out too on the rip, this Hack Im using or any track for that matter.

Btw, I could run 1.075 studs rather than 1.175's if I had to also---even though I would rather not run little stubby studs like that. :o| :o| :o|

I checked the clearance between my Ski-Doo extroverts 9Tx2.52 (#504152503) and the rail tips. Quite difficult to get a decent measurement, but in the worst case scenario - rear of skid extended and front of skid about half compressed - there is little bit less than 10 mm of clearance.

Th hacksaw you are putting on, is it the "Quiet" one used on the Cats. They have a wave shape on the inside or outside of the hifax. It's supposed to reduce the track howl. I figure this would be a good comparo to see if the harmonic truley is reduced bythe track design. Sorry to keep throwing stuff at you but this is all for the greater good. LOL

I see your in Fenton, nice weather eh. A week ago I had a race track in my back yard, today I don't see a spec of snow anyware.

:die Warm Weather

So since the 10's would be a 1/2" closer to the tips, I would have to assemble it without shocks and work both arms to fully stroke and see how much of the rail tip and the tips of the extros will have to be shaved I guess. How much clearance do you have when fully extended? Thanks!

If you do end up hitting the rails with the extro's : you can cut from the front of the rails quite a bit and then add anti-stab wheels up front to prevent the track from getting ripped appart by the rail tips. This has been done on Phazers since the 9 tooth BRP drivers will hit the unmodified rails.

Also, to check clearance, it is recommended to lift the sled, set the front of the rails on a 4x4 and have a buddy sit on the seat. This will compress the skid to its fullest at the front where the rail and extro's might just touch.

Did this mod for my 2012 XTX today and it seems like they have a longer driveshaft now. You will have to add 20mm to all of Alatalos measurements from the chaincase side. All other mesurements are still good.

Also on the 2011-12 xtx you dont need to trim the rails to fit 9t extros. All 2011 and newer xtxs are delivered with extros in sweden.

I just ordered and installed the 2 extroverts for my 09 RTX.
there OEM for the 2012 Apex XTX and were 76 each CAD at the yamaha dealer.

was simple to install no mesurements.
remove the 2 outer cogs off your drive shaft and install the new extroverts on each side right up against the 2 center cogs.
just make sure you put them on the right way because they have a L and R on them pm me if u have questions.
Oh if u are going this far on replacing these relocate your skid. I never though my nytro would feel like a light 2 stroke in deep snow. 2 weeks of riding and i havent though "oh #*$&@ my machine is too heavy" as im going into ditches or off trail. best mod u could every get on this sled if u ride 20-30% or more off trail
