Anti-ratchet drivers?

i just put a set of avids on my mtx this past week or so. you can tell the extros from avid being machined and not cast are more truer around than the stockers for sure. less vibration (with avids, i cannot vouche for wahl or others).

also with the avids they are a combo driver so they drive with the inner track lugs, AND the track windows with one driver (two pieces). the stockers need four drivers (four pieces) to do the same, and that adds friction and roating mass (weight). albiet not much but it all adds up.

removing weight from rotating parts is actually more dramatic in performance than removing static weight from the sled.

after installing the avids, i have less vibration, the sled "feels" freeer rolling, and i actually gained a few rpms on my tach in my case. but my stockers were out of spec in timing, and side to side alignment so, most of my gain was probably gained by "trueing" and blueprinting the drivers to the track and suspension.

you dont need clips in every window but, every window must be open to use the extrover style driver. eric

I put the the wahl extros on mine. Only put a few hundred miles on them but it seems like I can feel a small vibration. But only when it hooks really hard. I'll mess around with track tension next winter to see if I can reduce it.

1 1/16th shaft. And just pressed the old ones off then the new ones on. Just take lots of measurements and make sure they are lined up right with the arrows.

Don't do it your going to lose top end. My suggestion is to run the track tight and add some wheels to the places your wearing the hyfax the fastest

We have run extraverts for years , no loss of speed !!! You can run the track looser , turns easier , it will be faster and no slider wear issues ![/quote]

I'm here to tell you that running anti ratchet drivers and a looser track does not take away the slide wearing issues at all. I beg to differ here. I have avid drivers and my slides wear just as fast as others with stock drivers. The only thing that will save your slides from wearing out prematurely is larger boggie wheels and extra wheels for low snow that Yamaha sells already.
