Anyone try something with alittle more paddle like a 1.5" predator or?? on the Attaks for off trail use? 1.25" Ripsaw is not really a great snow track, thinking about trying a better snow track with some paddle to it.

I would be interested in hearing what others are doing with the track also. I went to Wyoming with mt Attak for a week and found it could use an improvment.

I have a Camoplast 1.5" on my RTX, which i believe has the same drivers as an Attak. It hooks up good, but I haven't been able to play in deep poweder yet. When installing the track it looks like you have to clip the track (whick I did) to clear the square tunnel tubing. You don't have to do this, it should clear. I'm going to Valemont BC this weekend, I'll let you know how it goes out there

I heard the 07 Attacks will come standard with a 1.5" track...

i have one on my attak.works great on and off trail.i wanted it for off trail and i'm happy.if your going off trail you'll want wider skis also to reep the benefit of bigger lug.

i pulled it right away but i have ridden attaks and apexs with stock track and it hooks better.i knew the stocker wouldnt cut it how i wanted to ride.theres really no down fall unless your looking for top speed which the 136" isnt made for that anyway.it should be standard in my opinion.

I totally disagree with both of your statements about the attak not being made for top speed,as it so far stock for stock runs either with most all the apexs or ahead and i dont want to see the 1.25 ripsaw as standard on the attak let along the 1.5 ripsaw, not saying that they should not offer it as an option, but just not standard, now i think they should offer somekind of crossover sled sorta like the attak, but just not the attak, first off the attak has a terrible attak angle for getting up on the snow, and maybe they should bring back the 141 x 1.5" mountain track or a ripsaw version lower angle of attak or aproach however you want to look at it,gear it about the same have mountain bars and loops, clutch it differently and have a minny gas rack on it,that would be a nice crossover sled.richierich said:i pulled it right away but i have ridden attaks and apexs with stock track and it hooks better.i knew the stocker wouldnt cut it how i wanted to ride.theres really no down fall unless your looking for top speed which the 136" isnt made for that anyway.it should be standard in my opinion.

As Rich has stated the 1.5" ripsaw works very well. I'm happy with mine.

i meant that its not a sled you buy if your planning on racing say speed or radar runs.on loose or deep snow it performs better then a 121"because your getting better traction.get on a packed trail and the apex will pull it on the top end but they have to also catch up 1st.i think the attak performs great in tight trails but i'm used to long sleds.
the attack angle isnt the problem as much as the front end weight and ski's.and the ripsaw lug isnt a powder track.it works great but in fluff it trench's instead of packing.
having a gas rack as a option sure but i dont want extra weight added or some ugly rack on my sled.i guess if yamaha built a perfect sled we wouldnt have anything to talk about

Can you stud a 1.5 track on a Attack?
