I was looking through the 06 Yamaha book & saw mountain skis for 06 sleds, available in blue, red & black for 90 some dollars.

You still have to buy the ski handles too in the color you want.

Is anyone using these skis on their Attak?

What bars are you using & are they good on the trails?

Good - real good - just ok?

I'm looking for more flotation in the deep & a little more bite in the corners on the trails too!!!

THANKS FOR YOU OPINIONS!!!

Just picked up my Attak, and put Yamaha mountain skis on it.Dealer service man rode it and said was a huge difference to stock skis, but I havent rode it yet myself. He said front end stays right up on top.

I'm more worried about cornering at high speeds on trails!

I don't want to have any push at high speeds!

The more flotation will be nice too!!!

What bars do you have on them?

THANKS!

Let me know about trail riding, please!

The ski handles and carbides from your stock skis fit the mountains. But you need 4 collars, 2 longer mounting bolts and 2 bushings to mount the skis. I traded my stock skis for the mt. skis for $10 each. I'm still waiting for the mounting hardware, so I can't tell you how they work yet. They look huge (much wider) compared to the stock ski.

Coldone I have them on my Attak. I have all 500 of my miles with them. I have never owned aftermarket skis so I don't know what to compare them to. I will say I do like them so far and I think the sled turns really good with them. I have a 1 1/2" Ripsaw (no studs) and 9" shaper bars on them. The Keel is slightly more aggressive on the mountain ski. I have noticed a little bit of darting but I have not shimmed them yet. I have no complaints yet?....

I have 600 plus miles on my Mnt Skis. They work awesome in the deeper snow, they will help get the front end on plane much quicker. As far as groomed surfaces go, they work there very well also, they turn extreemly well in the deep, they may be a little dartier than the stockers( because they are taller which may add extra ski pressure). I'm going to compare the two on friday of this week on a groomed trail. I'm setting up my stockers with 8" Woody's and will run a 15 mile section of trail for back to back testing. I'll let you know my results.

The shims will help I'm sure!

I just put on 70 miles on my Attak with Apex Mountain skis. They worked great for what I use them for.Stubble fields and cross country riding.Rode aliittle bit of trail and no darting to speak of. Only thing ths sled feels hard to steer as if ther is a little too much weight on the front or need to let off spring pressure?Used to riding Cats and you could stear them with one hand but this seems to take two,Any ideas guys.P.S. in 45 miles I used 12.6l of fuel and my sons 800 Cat used 23.2 l's

Lift the front of sled and back off the front springs all the way just so the adjustment nuts stop the spring from being loose in the saddle thats what I did on my Rage and it worked great! If you can get pressure somehow to the front of the rear skid do that if backing off the fronts doesn't help. Mine is the proaction tho ...I have the front set to 3/4 stiffest setting.

Hey favarcat-did you use the stock carbides on the mountain skis? I just stuck a pair of Bergstroms through the holes in the mountain skis and there is a lot of room aound the bolts-did you use any type of bushing around the bolts on the carbides to get rid of some of the play?
