any new update on piston rods?

i have the newer style 16 viper engine with the cheap rods. does anyone have any new info if yamaha is gonna replace our rods?? Have factory mpi and would like to do more but can't since it the motor will explode......not fair to us that have this issue of poor quality parts in a million dollar machine. especially when yamaha motors have NEVER had an issue like this!

nothing new. And there won't be ( imo )

Do some research. It's all in the heat treating. many engines are all good for more boost.

I would like to know how you can get at the rods without removing the engine to take the oil pan off? Do you know how they are doing it?

Supposedly the rods that look burnt are the good ones. Haven't done it myself but you may be able to see them with a scope or maybe just a mirror through flywheel side cover. Best bet is just put Carrilo in there if going turbo since more is always wanted.

I don't think all the 16's have bad rods, only some. But you won't know until she blows!
