Any reason not to stud on the outside of an se

Just about all set to stud 2011 se. I see a lot of u studding center only. Any reason not to stud outside every other lug. My 06 I studded with 144 and that included 1 outside every other. Suggestions

It depends what you want. I studded every other window on the out side of my 12 for best hook out of the hole. Stuffing the out side will give better hole shot but will push more in the corner's. If you don't care about out of the hole I would do center only.

This is what I'm wondering. Now my 06 has obviously a 121 and has 144 studs with every other outside. I luv the hole shot but I really luv the cornering. I can stuff that thru a corner like no tomorrow!! And like u said, i did have to replace my track at 6000 mi. Cause it was ripping studs out of the outside. So with a 128 is it gonna push hard anyway. Or if I stud the outside every other will it push so hard it's no fun!!! This is what I'm trying to find out. I don't know which way to go......... I did just up the center. I was worry about the pushing in the corners. also waiting for my tunnel kit from umler racing

X2 on this. I think that is why many shy away from studding the outside of track. More likely a pull through will lead to catastrophic track failure. This happened to me a few years ago on my SRX. IF I studded again, it would definitely be only down the center.

There is more risk in studing the out side but one key is to not under stud putting to much load per stud. If you are worried about push run the Extreme SnowTracker's and you will solve many isseu's at the same time. And make sure to run 0 toe and no shim's with them. You will smile all day long!

I love to drag race my buddies so with all the Apex torque you need to stud the beast (IMO) to get any real traction. If you don't care about hole shots you can always start off in the center and decide later. I just studded the 09 LTX this year. It had 2 up the center and I thought it was a joke. Now it has a 4-3 pattern.

Its a personal choice. I had two studs every other, and was fine with it (48), some run 244. You only need um on ice and hard pack, they do nothing in fluff. Also, I've seen the torque curve of our four strokes, and they have no more torque than any 800 two stroke. They do hold it longer as ya go up to WOT, but its no more than any other sled from the start. I will say from the butt meter, it feels like more, but it ain't!

I don't think that you are able to get an "even" stud distribution with every other lug/window on a 128 track 2.52 pitch=51 windows. Odd number makes where you come around the track, when studding, you will then have a back to back either open or two sets of outside studs in consecutive grooves.
I'm kind of going through that w/ my '12 Apex XTX- 144" track=57 windows. I'm going to go with the template from Mack studs if you look under their 192 design for studding on the outide and just do every lug, instead of every three which I guess would work, but I'd rather have more which is supposed to maintain track integrity better rather than too little. http://www.mackstud.com/store/templates/192.html
