Cant seem to find a sweet spot on my floats. Anybody ever ditch there floats for some other shocks? If so how did they perform over the floats?
If you want I can trade you my normal shocks for your floats.

What exactly are you trying to achieve from them exactly?? Judging by your avatar them seem too have wayyy to much air unless your mostly banging ditches. low-very low pressures work best for handling and trail riding. even at 40-45psi(with the front end elevated) I have never bottomed even on the roughest trails at speed. Big jumps may prove different though.

I've compared back to back the floats vs stock shocks on an 06 Apex ER.
The shocks on the 06 Apex soak up normal sized bumps just well as IMO and where the regular shocks really shine is handling. The regular shocks provide better cornering than floats.
Having said that, Once you start pushing the sled on rougher terrain, the floats now start to provide a more comfortable ride plus they are much more difficult to bottom out. For an all out aggressive, rough trail rider, the floats are definitely superior than stock valved 06 Apex ER front shocks.
What I did with my 07 RTX to compensate for the increased body roll is install a 13mm sway bar. This greatly reduces the body roll, making the float/13mm setup flatter in cornering than the 06 Apex ER.
The other thing I did was tighten the limiter strap 1 hole. I would actually recommend tightening the limiter 2 holes (all the way tight) if you have stock torsion springs and are looking for trail performance (as opposed to straight line acceleration).
As far as air pressure - yes lower pressure does make the sled corner better - but I found once I got below about 50 psi the ride harshness was just too much plus I was bottoming the front end.
My personal preference is 60-65 psi combined with the 13mm sway bar, center spring preload "just" tight enough not to be loose with the skid out (or limiter loose), and the limiter strap at least 1 hole tighter than stock (2 tighter for best handling, minimum body roll, and minimum inside ski lift).
BTW, if you want to trade the floats (and everyone else in this thread who has offered doesn't pan out), I know several guys with Apex ERs who would be very interested in a trade.

I have the 13mm bar and I still have body roll. I'm going to try rex's suspension set-up. If it doesn't work out I wouldn't mind trading for some gytr piggyback's.

You should try his setup and also try to have your a-arms straight across yours seem up a little .

When running stock skis I run Bergstrom Skegs 8" regular carbides combined with ski savers and a 1/4" shim at the back of the ski bumper (to raise the tip a little).
With the C&A Outlaws I run the 9" carbide, but I find they grab on railway crossings, etc. so I'm in the process of making up some custom carbides to resolve this (before running them again).
Note I also have 144 studs.

I have pilots with 4" carbidles and no studs.
