I have a turboxs boost controler on my apex..(on there when i bought it).. there is a little allen scew to adjust the boost.. turn it all the way down and run the sled pulls 18-19 lbs.. turn the screw half ways out.. runs 17-18lbs.. turn it all the way out.. runs 18-19 lbs... checked all the hoses and they seem good.. just wondering if its possible for one of these to go bad?.. Can a person rebuilt them?.. or what I be better off buying a new one? Would like to get the sled to run around 12-14 lbs... any input would help.. thanks rocky

quick question.. going to take it off tommorow and look at it.. however i dont remeber seeing a way too takek them apart to clean it.. does the little allen screw all the way out?.. and can you clean it by just taking off the brass plug on the one side.. (cant remeber for sure what it looks like)

I called the company the other day. They said if anything gets plugged you will get max boost. Sounds like that is occurring with yours so cleaning it should fix the problem.

I just got done cleaning mine. Take the brass plug off. There should be a white washer between the brass plug and the main body of the controller. Inside the brass plug is a ball bearing and a spring. I cleaned them off and ran a Q-tip down into the brass plug and main body. You can also removet he allen screw from the other side and run a Q-tip down there also. Basically clean anywhere you can get to.

Mine works like a charm now.

Cool.. thanks.. will be doing that tommorow.. hopefully I have time and snow.. to test before i take off... THANK GOD FOR TY4STROKE.COM... :)

Well Just took it off.. and took it apart.. mine has no ball bearing or spring... I have never had this apart so.. dont know why they wouldn't be there :(.. Tried to call turboxs but no answer.. trying to find one locally before my trip tommorow but not looking good :(

If any body has any ideas please share... its a blue turboxs boost controller... it has two big black o-rings on the onside of it about 2/3 of the way to the top underneath these orings there is a couple of holes (which were not pluged).. thanks rocky

Well I guess that is why you are getting so much boost. I would keep calling them until they answer. You definitely need the spring and bearing before it will work correctly. Unfortunately until you get them you are kinda stuck. You could take it off and run the tubing from the turbo straight to the wastegate. This will prolly be way too low but better that than too high and burning down. Just a thought.

Or you can call around to some of the import car specialty shops if you have any close buy. They should carry some sort of manual boost controller.

Good luck.

Just got off the phone with turboxs... my series of boost controllers doesnt have the spring and ball bearing.. I just did a check on the boost controller and it seems to be working the way it should be.. by blowing air through it.. The guy at turbo xs claim it might be my wastegate..

Is there a quick fix to these.. I'm leaving this afternoon for a trip.. and dont want to burn this baby down... ??.. any help??

Thanks rocky

Boost controller

I am having problems with my boost controller! Had it set at 11 lbs. Stayed there for a day of riding. Went out the next day showed 14 lbs. Only running premium fuel. Had to stop and shut it down to 9lbs. It never seems to stay where I put it. These are not boost spikes! It may be rubbing on cahsis and going off kilter! Have never taken it appart. Do they need to be taken apart and cleaned? If I shut it off my sled runs 9lbs.
