Looking for somebody who is near Brainerd, MN who might want to do a track change on a Nytro 121. Looking at extending it out to a 136.

PM me.

Thanks!

Not real mechanical. Ever make the Brainerd area? Going to look at ordering the parts as soon as I decide on track.

I could help you out. If you have a heated garage I would be willing to drive to your place if you throw in a little money for gas. If not, we could trailer it to my place in St. Cloud.

I do have a heated garage and I would have no problem flipping you some cash.

I'm still trying to decide on a couple of things before I order.

1. What track I should get. I have been looking at the Camoplast 1.5 or the Cobra 1.5 from TracksUSA.

2. Do I need to gear it differently to run the new track. I'm still trying to see what others have done.

Thanks for the offer. I will take you up on that. Give me a bit to wrap of the couple unknowns.

The Cobra seems to get the best reviews. I just put a brand new 121" Cobra on my Apex, but haven't had a chance to ride it yet (obviously). I wasn't aware that they made it in a 1.5" lug though, mine is a 1.325" height. I don't have any experience with Nytro's, but I would be really surprised if it couldn't handle a 1.325" lug height. As for the gearing, I would suggest leaving it stock and seeing how you like it first. Changing gearing is a relatively quick and easy job to do if you are not happy down the road.

You are going to need a bottle of chain case oil and if your sled has a decent amount of miles (like over 7000 or so) it would be good to consider replacing the track driveshaft bearings and seals. If you don't have high mileage, it would still be a good idea to at least change the bearing on the clutch side... typically the chain case bearings last much longer because they are constantly bathed in oil.

I stretched my Viper out to 136" last year using TracksUSA rail and tunnel extensions... the rail extensions were great but the tunnel extension needed a little modification to work with the rear heat exchanger I added.

Thanks for all the info. I have the whole order typed up and ready to go.

OFT 136 Extension Kit
Ulmer Racing for Extroverts
Intense Track from TracksUSA - 136x15x1.5 or 1.375 - Fully Clipped
144" Hyfax from Brothers Motors
Ulmer Racing Gearing 19/39
8" Billet Wheels

Now I'm just going to wait and see about doing it next summer. I've pretty much given up on this Winter. We are heading to the middle of January and ZERO pattern change for us. It would have to snow like a madman to make up for the lack of winter so far. Not felling to optimistic right now.

I think the Nytro could handle a 1.5 track. Right now the RipSaw is a 1.25. I did look at a Cobra 1.375 and the Intense 1.5. I'm leaning towards the Intense.

If I place the order later this Spring, I will be in touch. Maybe this summer we could get together and make it happen. It would be a couple day job since I would have to get the extroverts pressed on after we remove the track driver. We will see what we can work out. I will make it worth your while!

Thanks for the generous offer!

Yeah this winter has been a total disappointment so far. We have a cabin on Whitefish, so I will be in your area a lot this summer. Just let me know where you are ready to get started. I PM'd you my phone number.
