Can someone share with me what this change did for their nytro? more top end? less top end? how about going up a tooth to 22?

I went from 21 tooth to 19 tooth when I switched to the backcountry track. I lost around 5 mph on the top end. In theory I gained back the bottom end after putting on a heavier track.

So does it help any with top end to go up a tooth? To 22? I heard the nytros are finicky to gear changes.

Yes that would be inversely proportionate to dropping a tooth. Wow that was a mouthful. I wouldn't say nytros are finnicky to gear changes.

Can I use the same chain going up 1 tooth to 22 top gear?

Most will advise going up a top tooth nets no sig top end improvement and softens accel as well as puts the belt in a less efficient ratio for most real world riding.

I spoek with Ulmer about gearing changes and he said that he found the Nytro to be finicky with gearing changes, going up a tooth seemed to net a few mph buy mostly for the lighter guys, say under 200 lbs. going to a 22 top gear requires a 70 link chain, stock being 68. I tried 22/38 gearing and I felt my sled ran slower so I went back to the stock 21/39. I'd bet you'd be better doing the 20 tooth set up and wouldn't probably lose much top end. It would also pull harder in the mid range. Ulmer had a thread about the gearing changes and had a chart with all the gains in various distances. I'll try to find it.
