ok here is my story
this is the front track shock out of my 08 fx nytro, i had it revalved when i first got the sled, and i was very happy with the valving i thought it work awesome, i put 3800 miles on it like that.

Last winter i put a 144 extension in it, i liked that too thought it rode much better.and i put 600 miles on it, in that form

the other day i took the skid out to have the shocks rebuilt and change some wheels and found the shock like this, there is no oil in my trailer or on the floor of the garage where i store it, so i must have been ridding it like that at least one ride (last time out was colebrook nh 125 miles pretty rough), i didnt think it was ridding bad or anything but i had to have been ridding it with a wasted shock
anyone got an opinion as to what happened? i am guessing water got in there and it froze and busted the shock, and i did not have the shock serviced every season like i was supposed to

i bought a fox zero pro to replace it for 269 from carver performance i think thats pretty reasonable

Actually they do translate it, and they have a sleeve that fits over the shock to prevent blow outs. Funny no Yamaha dealer has ever heard about this problem but there's a company that fixes it? What do you do?

Thanks found it!

Star Suspension is great to work with too, I have a 128 kit on order, just waiting for it to arrive.

To have the site translated, open it with Google chrome as it translates it too.

I really am impressed with them especially the rear and the shockbody fix.I do think that it should be mentioned that Hygear did the exact same mod for the center shock linkage on the Phazer suspension which is very similar.Who did it first?

Not sure if all shock rebuilders are using them...
But mine were just done again and they told me they are now using an updated seal that is better. I'm not an expert on this stuff but I'll bet that most blown out bodies are from leaky seals taking in water then freezing.
I wonder if Yamaha in the future will turn the shocks around rod down??

OHLINS

My rear ohlins didn't look so healthy at one time.
I am thinking it got tired though and blew because of no oil.
