anyone run nitrous on their 2 stroke. ( they need a 2 stroke nitrous page)
anyway
I have a nitrou express system all assembled. after quite a time on teh heater I got the tank pressure to 950 psi at one point
for my very first run. I saw RPMs rise from 8600 off the gas to 9000 on the gas. I did not feel any acceleration change. It was on a hardpack/icy road
30 hp shot
do you feel the punch of 30 HP? or should you?
after a couple runs , the pressure was at 800, then 700, then I went home.
after coming home I ran the heater and even a hot blower on the tank
the tank was quite warm to the touch but the pressure was only 750 or 800.
could i simply be out of gas? I purged the system quite a few times before ever running this first time. and MAY? have left the value open one night???
I am bringing it to my nitrous fill retailer to check the weight, but wanted to figure this out.
I hope I was running out of gas. becasue after a TON of rigging time. I was not impressed.
now lining up to other sleds may show me different, but I was expecting the ( 50% more throttle) that others have commented.
needless to say, I rejetted the nozzles for 45HP ( 15 each cylinder)
and will fill the tank adn try one more run this week before unveiling after a whooping to my APEX buddy. but I need this dialed in before unloading up north.
thanks for the input

On mine I have a 40 hp shot I see 5 to 600 rpm increase so 400 sounds about right for 30 hp.I am studded and yes I do feel an increase its not night and day different but noticeable.
You are correct when theres another sled next to you it is more impressive.

thanks
for anyone running nitrous. how does 30Hp feel, what about 45HP.
is it "50% more throttle" or are some people just exaggerating :ORC
I just want to make sure the system is working correct. if so, then I have to trust it is 45Hp and see the results in my lineup this weekend ( which I have been preparing for 8 months

got a dyno you can tune it on?

I think you need to have good traction and line up against a similar sled. You should see a pretty big difference then. Without lining it up, 30HP is noticable but it won't trow you back. Over 700 PSI should be plenty.

well,
as I expected, I was about out of nitrous. I hit the purge valve so many times showing to friends etc. that I pissed it all away and only got one good run before it was falling off
live and learn
I also talked to the guy that fills them ( has nitrous on his machZ) He said you feel the punch more off the line than when shifted out ( as expected)
So I am jetted for 45HP boost now( 3 cylinder) and a full tank of N2O.
gonna smoke the buddies APEX in 3 days !!!
the NX system has remote fuel and inline pump
so 700 psi won't be fat if the aux fuel pressure is jetted for 900-1050 ?

I agree with the "pull" at take off.
I'm not sure how your system works. If it pressurizes the float bowls by using the nitrous pressure, it should be o.k. at 700 psi or 1000 psi. If it just uses jetting and a fuel pump, nitrous pressures might make a big difference in rich/lean condition.
If that is the case, you MUST get a bottle heater to keep pressure consistant. When you are out rideing on the trail, hit the lake etc if your bottle is cold (like mine gets) you might only have 500 psi. If your engine and/or pipe is "heating" the bottle, those temps and pressures will vary greatly...IMO
I'm certainly not anywhere near an expert...so, other input might be better.

I have a bottle heater,
the bottle is installed in the front of my srx vey close to the exhaust manifolds/pipes, but alos close to the 6 grills in front.
I blocked 2 grills that blow directly on the tank, but I don't want to keep the necessary cooling away from the engine either. I also added some sticky backed insulating foam shet to the front edge of teh tank to help insulate also
I have some metal tin to cut and wrap around the pipes and the tank to try to steal some heat off the pipes with conduction instead of just radiant.
after the reveal on the butt whoopin, I will have free game this weekend to play with this in the buddies heated polebarn.
I have a remote pressure gage on my instrument cluster to watch it.
thanks for the input

It's me ( way cool jr.)
used an alias till I smoked my buddy
I beat him on the road. He pulled me in the powder field ( long track, bigger lugs)
but I need to get rpm down. I am at 9200
I have a slight studder on the NOS,
anyone experience this?
is this "blowing teh plugs out?
I am running BR10ECS at .030
the plugs are clean, tannish, but not whiteish
I am hoping it is a rev limiter problem.
