From what I understand there systems are on the loud side of the scale when it comes to aftermarket exhaust, have you had any personal exp. with MBRP systems.

I could start mine in the garage and hold the phone in my kitchen in the house and you would run for ear plugs,thats how loud my new get r done hauck exhaust is,i am not liking it much,i think the cops are still looking for us from the field the other night lol...

Interesting..... I called the guy's at Hauck, and they told me maybe only 3-4 db louder than stock. It appears their information is inaccurate.

I dont know what db stock is,but the excell pipe i tried was 94 bds and this one is much louder.

Well, I'm glad to have read this, as I was pretty sure that I wanted the Hauck silencer. However, if it is that much louder than stock, I am just wasting my time and money. I will surely be stopped and forced to reinstall the OEM. But I sure do like that sound and the extra HP would be nice also.

Has anyone with aftermarket pipes been stopped in Northern WI? Two weeks ago while ridding around Eagle River area, we were stopped, buddy with aftermarket canister ONLY on his Fusion was "warned" and had to put stock back on and take to a DNR station and have inspected.

I called Hauck directly to inquire about silencer and they said that they also sell a "plug" that you can carry with you. Just stick this plug in ONE of your exhaust outlets and she quiets right down.

Any thoughts?????

Oh ya, the DNR boys were blocking the trail with a Dodge at a road crossing and the Vilas Co. sheriff boys were ridding Ski-doon'ts.

I am pretty sure stock is slightly less than 80 db. I took his comments to mean the Hauck would be about 85 db tops, giving his comments some leeway. I have seen new legistlation averaging around the 88 db range for legal exhaust systems. If the the Excell is 94 db, and the Hauck is much louder, I would figure it is pushing 100 db, which is a FAR cry for 3-4 db louder than stock!

The stock system is 84 db. The Excell system is 94 db, measured the same day same place.

3-4 dbs doesnt seem like it should be much louder but it is. I think most people would be very suprised at the difference to your ear.

Hi Mr.Plow,at least that gives me some hope for this get r done pipe,cause i was about ready to take it back to thedealer and see if he would even give me back part of my money,and now given the info you just gave to us,it sounds like i can get a plug to quiet it down???? That sure is sweet music to mine and everyone elses ears lol..
