i second that, even had it shut down once, let it warm up too long, fired it back up, light was on, hit the gas down the trail, and all is good.

R.s Venture did it a couple times when new. I've since put a acc. heat exchanger on for better cooling in low snow conditions and I havent seen it again yet.

Thanks for the reply guys glad i aint the only one i was also thinking about draining the anti freeze and mixing it 50 50 with some water weeter told that might help with the over heating. what is the best way of drainining the anti freeze anybody know?

Add the rear heat exchanger. Yamaha was offering them for cost ($42 I think) for the 2005 vectors, not sure about other models/years. I think you had to be in the warranty period though. I haven't overheated since. Also keeps the ice buildup in the rear of the tunnel down.

just throw snow on teh running boards...it will not overheat if its gonna be idling for a while

I thined my down to 50-50 and I have not had a problem since.you can drain ,But what I did is used the tester to suck up what I could and then added water I did this about 5 times before I got it were I wanted. This way there is no system bleeding to do.

STORM-CHASER I will try this i just need to buy a tester how much do one of these coast ? Ive never used or seen one before

there just a few dollars at a auto store. I also put a temp gauge in mine so I know what going on, its a nice thing to have, But most people on the form that had thinned theres down did not have any more problems

I will have to get one of them tommrow like the red hood screens looks awsome. would eventualy like to add alot more red to my vector.

here is a updated photo, I put the apex seat on and raised the bars

Hey guy's, When I 1st rode my 2005 vector I had an overheating problem. 1st off the dealer didn't bleed the cooling system and that hot light came on in I think the 1st 5 miles I rode it, 2nd they had the track so tight that i think I wore about half the hifax off the 1st ride. The dealer thought I was crazy. They said they never had a problem with a Vector. When it was all said and done, they bled the system, adjusted the track tension, and installed new hifax all free of charge and I haven't had a problem since.
