I got a new heated shield and blew the 3 amp fuse twice this weekend. Should I just put a 5 amp fuse in it. Just checking to see if anyone else has blown the 3 amp fuse on it or if I have a bad shield or wire.

Depends on how its wired. My 2006 GT would blow the 3a fuse every other day when using a heated shield. I used 5a fuses and carried spares.

Did switching to the 5amp fuse still have issues or solve the problem of it always blowing?

5a blows less frequently.
Did not change a fuse at all last season on my 07 Attak and I ran shield, hardwired GPS, iphone and charged gopro at times on that circuit.
shield amps ~1.2a????
USB x2 = 2a (iphone, gopro)
GPS amps ≤1.5a

i found mine kept blowing because the cord end woul touch something metal and possibly short out? ive been careful for it to not touch anything besides the end on the helmet and its been good ever since

If you are blowing fuses it means your sheild and or cord are drawing too much amperage. Putting a larger fuse in and your risking burning up the wiring in your sled. I would try a new cord and take it from there.

I agree with "the end of the cord is touching something metal when you take it from your helmet"

I went through this when I first got my sled. I narrowed it down to the end hitting the running board or other metal parts. as long as I took great care with not letting that plug get wet or touch metal, I was fine.
I was going through a lot of fuses until I realized that.

Yeah, first day out, but luckily on way back to the trailer, my cord came undone from my helmet, and touched the running board. Stopped working after that. Replaced 3amp fuse and went on a short ride and so far no issues.

try unhooking you cord so that the female end is plug in a lot less chance that it could short out. leave the little one hanging

I am sure shorting the wire would blow the fuse. I am just as sure my fuse blowing was not from that given the way mine was set up.
