I noticed a few posts describing broken front pivot arms on the mono suspension, so I checked mine and found no cracks. But I am worried this will eventually happen.

Has anyone modified there older mono?

I think I am going to copy the 08 front arm which has gussets and add to my 07.

Any suggestions?

Look in the Suspension Forum there is alot of great pics of modified pivot arms.

Just a suggestion, why don't you buy a '08 or '09 new pivot arm and keep your old 1 as a spare, by the time you pay a welder and down time to do it it'll end up costing a few $$$

If your SRUNG & VALVED correctly you shouldn't have any problems w/stock pivot arm...unless your a very aggressive rider DITCHBAGING and jumping all the time and bottoming out HARD you should be ok...I have a budie that has 10.000kms on original pivot arm on a '05.
