Just wondering what I can get away with before I have cable/hose issues. Has anyone done this? I know they are pretty good already but a little higher would be better as I like to ride standing.

I was looking at mine last night. It should be pretty easy to buy a 1" by 3" peice of aluminum flat bar. To raise the bars by an inch. I think 2" riser is pushing it. I will do mine when I get back from vailmont this week end. Frist trip with the vector I can not wait. It looks like the bolts that hold the steam together go from the handalbars to the bottom of the riser block. They must be 10" long. It may be a pain to find some longer ones. slymax I see you are in Alberta, are you going to the mountians anytime? I would love to see the Turbo run!

I have an 05 RX-1Mt and installed a set of Artic Cat bars. The cat bars are 2'' taller than the 05 bars, not including the riser that comes from the factory. Currently with this setup I'm maxed out on my cables without having to change anything. I really like the setup!!!!

I put a 2" riser on my mtn vector, the cables fit -no problem!! I found the LONG!!! bolts from John Deere, they were allen head and just perfect length. I might have the part # on a package yet, if you need it let me know! cv

Canadian Vector, small world, Valemount this weekend(hopefully)Riding Saturday and Sunday, not sure where on sat, probably morning glory Sun. morningyet.
Cousin Vinny, please get me the part# of the bolts, are they high grade steel? My kid thinks he has an extra 2" riser at home, so the bolts is probably all I need.

I dont think I would go with much more than a 2" cause my buddy put a 4" on his vector which I thought was alittle much anyways and it has to come off or he is gonna rip out his stock cables..

Here ya go Sly-- John Deere part # is 19M-8045. bolts are 8M X 220M and they are 12.9 hardness (HARD) and allen head. About 4 bucks?? each cv :D

Thanks for the part number cv. I will pick up the bolts next week. Slymax, I am heading out tonight, we will go to Miledge on Friday, If we do not pound out all the snow may go there on Saturday. I am not sure about allen the visibility and Avy danger, will mean it may be difficult to get far back. It looks like last week the snow was deap enough that only one group made it to the lake at miledge, and it was snowing when they left so it is going to be good.

Sunday, not sure where we are going. Never heard of morning glory, is it close to valemont, or blue river. I heard about a place just outside of town behind the Shell? We may try and check it out on Sunday.

Morning glory is on the way in to Clemina, I like it for a Sunday morning so we don't have a long ride in and out and can get away early to get home. I like Miledge, always seems to have the most snow, might go in on Saturday. not sure yet, depends on the guys we are with. What colour is your sled?

I'll keep an eye out for ya. My first trip to the hills, may be doin' a little tunin'. have it geared pretty tall, but seems to pull it , around here anyway.

Cousin Vinny, JD didn't have the bolts anywhere in Alberta. can you believe they want $15 or $16 a bolt = $60....Phoned the bolt houses and they don't have anything longer than 120mm. One of my suppliers figures he can get me a 1m length of med grade threaded rod and I can just make studs. I will check into it more next week. I have adjusted it a little more forward and will try it this weekend first. My kid has his bars 2" higher than mine on his MM. When he did it I thought it was a little overboard, but sure feels good standing(like riding a chopper sitting down, LOL) :drink:

Why not try a set of Mahler Risers that are made in Vancouver. Like ROX but made here and cheaper. Get a rise and pivots, he will put what ever you want on them. I know its a little late for Vale, but for next time.

On the 05's,get rid of that silly 4" block, put on a 5" Mahler or any articulating riser, gets you up and forward and the cable fit prefect. On the 04's and 03's,buy the "Vision Motor Sports" 6" longer cable for the RX-1 and you can put on up to 5" riser without changing any of the other cables, without the changing the throttle cable,it's dangerous to put on a 2" riser.

Yeah, my kid had an 8", I think it's a powermadd. I may get one of those articulating risers and a block and be done, I screw with it too much already. That's the problem when there's a lack of snow! LOL
