Got an 07 phazer fx. The rear skid is terrible at handling the small studder bumps. Switched up sleds with my dad and rode his 07 apex gt and couldn't believe how smooth that mono skid rode.

I have the skid set as soft as it will go and it just doesn't seem soft enough to soak up the small studders.

Is a GT shock much softer?

I have a mono skid and thought about putting that in it.

07 fx sucks over the studer bumps? are you sure? you might need to make some adjustments cause my 07 GT is the #*$&@ over the rough stuff. all stock, nothing done to the rear end at all.... i've herd of guys revalving the rear shock to a mor progressive rate but otherwise that fx shouldbe purpose built to take the rough trail like a champ no?

yea...it sucks over the studer bumps when comparing to my father's apex. I couldn't believe the difference. The rear just hops all over the place on the small stuff on my phazer

do you want the skid to do Big bumps or Studders? It's really hard to get get it to perform both with the same setup. If you want Great Studder performance then the FX is the wrong model to begin with, the shocks and springs are STIFF compared to other models, depending on your weight you could probably swap to GT springs and get your stock shocks re-valved softer. It WILL bottom on BIG bumps but in return should ride OK in studders. My MTX has the softest shock/spring combo and I DON'T feel studders at all, but the skid starts to bottom pretty quick at speed on bigger bumps.

The shock from a GT is softer thats why not as many of the front shock arms on the rear skid of the GT's break like 07's it would prolly help but i think you could have your stock shock revalved to less pressure and that would solve it ALSO Schmidtbros has a progressive shock avaliable that is supposed to handle the chatter better and not loose ability on the bigger stuff thus progressive.
