From what I've seen the speedwerx pipe makes a big gain on the F1000. Should be just short of a Mach Z. The buddy I raced with lost a cylinder last year though.

I don't know why you would be a threat to him. Even when stock. More hp same weight...no brainer. Try racing the new 800 skidoo...same hp almost and less weight...that would be a better race.

Well even without the pipe, he's 180hp to my 163-165 and I could beat him fairly easy, until he added the cobra and even though I tied with him 2 out of the -5 races, he would just pull me out of the hole and at a 30-40mph roll-on, but I would still pull beside him or go past him by 1/2 sled length by the time we topped out. He is just getting traction and I know that. Before the cobra track and he had the hacksaw, I embarrased him bad, 5 for 5 races, anywhere, any time
. He was stunned and it was awesome to shut his big mouth up once again.
From the beginning ever since he got his 04 F7 and I had my 03 REV, I could kick his #*$&@, pretty much everytime we raced. Then I bought the Apex and I did it even worse. So, he bought the F1000 and he started all over again how he had the fastest sled. First ever race out. I was stock with a white secondary spring in. I beat hime 3 for 3 races. He was pissed... Then he started modding. Then, the F1000 came to life and beat me by about 5 sled lengths everytime. So, I bought the PCIII, ignition controller and Fix Air lid and clutched and geared. I killed it... He did even know what to say. It was great to regain the title.
Well on my stupid part, I told him that he needed the cobra track. He did that and now he beats me by 1-2 sled lengths on the bottom and mid range, but I come back at the end. So I said, what's going to happen when I put the cobra on. He's knows that it's all over.
The F's don't get the power to the ground and I'm not sure why, but, I believe it's all in the Direct Drive and that compresion secondary setup, which I think is junk. I have always told him, I should not be a threat to him and I'm not sure why he keeps spending money to beat an Apex. If anything, I'm the under dog and should be spending the money. I should turbo it and kill it and be done with it, but that's alot of dough. He has not bought the pipe yet, but if he does, I think that's it for the Apex, since I'm pretty much out of options.... Look at my sig, you can see what I have already. Tell me what else to do guys, beside TC or SC.
I need more setup tips...

Not really, if you see what it has to go against and having a weight disadvantage. I think Yamaha does quite well in that department.

I'm not worried about an XP 800... It may get me out of the gate, but I'll pass it just before the C note or just after and that's a good running one. If it's a stocker, I'll beat it out of the gate... From what I have seen of them, they are not the God that DOO protrayed them to be.

Thats what i said..
Yamaha could be heavier, with less HP and still be faster as it has more actual HP at the track.. (less hp loss)
Its funny because on HCS the guys with F1000s complain all the time that there sleds arnt as fast as our heavy 4 strokes, hell even old F7s are beating the F1000 in stock form.. It takes bulls eyes, and a pipe to wake them up.. and a fuel controller so they dont run lean..
My old Rx-warrior with no studs stock clutching and at only 135hp is only 3 lengths behind 3 Rev Mach Zs with 250+ studs 160-170hp and clutch kits.. and they cant pull away on top..

Sorry about that dude, I miss read your post.
They only need the Fuel controller On the 08's I believe or if you have a pipe. Different ECU mapping and timing curve.

There were several guys last year that burned down there sleds with only bullsyes and Y-pipes.. they went lean..
Some sleds run slightly leaner than others..
