Anyone trail riding with slydog command skis?

How do you find the Attack skis on hardpack?! I currently have the command skis and they are great in loose snow, but in hardpack they become twitchy and grab too much. I wonder if the attack would be a better all around ski than the command that can handle hard pack better?

What carbides are you running?
When the commands first came out I put them on my 20 but had to take them off because steering was to hard, I recently put eps on my sled and put the commands back on with 6” shaper bars, haven’t played with the suspension yet but I’m super impressed with these skis, zero push so far even on fresh snow covered trails, absolutely no darting or twitchy feeling on hard park and they hold a straight line extremely well. At high speeds I can definitely feel some resistance in the steering as the eps is speed sensitive but couldn’t be happier with these skis.

You definitely need eps with these skis.
Took my 20 yr old nephew yesterday for his first ride ever on a sled, gave him my sled while a good friend brought another sled for me to use, we did 360km from hard packed to 6-8” for fresh snow under groomed trails and he hanged with us all day. Sled handles perfectly with these skis .

Going from shapers to aggressive snow tracker was a huge difference and improvement all around in my opinion...very light steering and all the confidence i could ask for.

Since 07 I’ve put thousands of km’s on trackers but since I got my 20 SW I wanted to find a ski that works good for me besides running trackers, I don’t mind trackers but don’t like the push they provide in loose snow conditions, I haven’t tried a ski yet that works as good as these commands with shaper bars for my sled. Stock tuner ski with trackers worked great on hard packed but pushed to much for my liking, tried cat skis with aggressive trackers and couldn’t get them to handle good and still pushed in loose conditions then tried shaper bars on the cat skis and the darting was brutal, tried the pilots witch were okay but still wanted better handling, now with eps and these command skis it’s a whole new sled for me, very pleased to say the least.

I was going to order the command skis but it just so happened a guy literally the next town over had these attacks up for sale a a great price and only used a couple of times. I took the chance but have always believed in putting a wider ski on my 4 strokes for better steering in the fluff and loose powder. These slydogs seem to work.

I'm running 6 or 8 inch woodys, not shapers. Doesnt matter which carbide length but they seem twitchy and nervous on hardpack. I do have EPS on my sled and they are great is loose snow and dont push or dart. But in hard pack, its not confidence inspiring

I run the Attacks on a 2020 and I'd agree the steering with shaper bars was definitely a little heavy. But with these snow trackers, all that is gone...HUGE improvement!

Yes Royal has them that’s where I got mine. Their web site is brutal better to give them a call and ask for the shaper bar for the C&A skis as it’s the same carbide. You will definitely feel the difference with the shaper bar.

Definitely agree with you having to put trackers on a non EPS SW, trackers make a world of difference to lighten up the steering effort. For the guys with eps the shaper bars work great, I’m running 6” and sled is glued to the trail in all conditions.

With lower snow conditions and very cold weather the conditions are very firm and the darting and tracking increases a fair amount. The shapers work better than the round bars for sure. They dart less which is funny because in the past I always found shapers to turn better but dart more. They turn instantly on these conditions so if a guy is not smooth with his steering inputs they will feel twitchy and jerky for sure. Shimming the skis helped a bit and to see minimal improvement in tracking/darting it required suspension adjustments that ruined the ride quality and comfort of the sled. Im gonna continue to experiment as I do like the turning confidence but not sure if itll be a good choice for full day higher mileage riding days

I don’t know, maybe it’s the way my sled is setup but I don’t get any darting or tracking issues, cat skis with shapers were horrible for darting and sled is setup the exact same way. My sleds now feels like it’s on tracks on the trails.

Ya not sure, I started with minimal toe out of about 1/16 per ski and worked my way up to 1/4” per ski and not much effect. My sleds a 146 so not much ski pressure to begin with but increased center shock preload and this helped reduce darting on deceleration but minimal effect under normal driving but made sled feel harsh. Ill continue to mess with it, they seem much better than some of the other skis ive tried but still a bit much going on with them to want to have them on for long rides.
