I'm in need of my first new replacement belt for the 06 Apex Gt. It has the stock Yamaha belt on it now. It let go after about 10 consecutive drag races on hard pack snow.
I'm curious what everyone has had the best luck with? I havn't run anything but the cat belts on my Turbo so I don't have any experience with aftermarket belts myself.
Anyone tried the new G-Force Carbon belts yet?
Thanks.

Doesn't sound like there is anything wrong with belt that lasted 7 years.

I just got this sled. Definately not the first belt on it. Sled has 5,800 miles on it.

Honestly I think your better off with the Yamaha belt, make sure your clutch off set is good and clutches are clean.

No, the Yammy belts are just that good. A little hard maybe, but durable and affordable @ under $80.

OEM belts work well, are hard so they last, and I've never had an issue. I did run an Ultimax on my Old Vmax and it lasted ok as well, but that was a 80-90 hp machine, so not gonna blow many belts..lol
Why change what works??

Of all the aftermarket discussions we have on this forum, you don't see them on belts very often if ever. OEM seems to be the ticket.
(can't say that with most of the other OEMs)

I'm a Gates Distributor . I can say they make great belts and have never had a complaint about any of them. I put a new G-force on my Vector and I'm still waiting to give it a try.
Try Google search on Gates G-force There are many good write ups from different magazines. One great thing Gates did was to hire Gerard Karpik to help develop this new line. I think They will be the one's to watch in the future .
