Has anyone tried out a clutch kit yet? If so which one and how much of a gain over stock?

I am running a CPR kit, Gained a minimum of two length's on the bottom and more as you get on good hard pack. The clutching is a lot more agressive on the bottom end so the better the traction, The bigger the gain. A friend of mine has a Vector ER identical to mine so i have a good comparison.

srxspec sells a kit that is supposed to make some pretty decent gains, try sending him a PM.

I had a Goodwin Performance kit installed on mine this week. I'll let you know what i think. Gonna test it this weekend. I think it was around $250 for new springs, helix, weights, and pins.

Results in on the goodwin kit. I raced a 98 formula Z modified with dyno port pipes changed reed vavles and studs. I killed it out of the hole but after 1000 feet the formula caught and passed me. The clutch kit definitely jumps out of the hole like a rocket but I think i lost some top end but i'll check it tomorrow versus my GPS results before the kit. I also raced a polaris 500 classic and that wasn't even a race. the polaris was 20 sleds back after 1/4 mile. More testing tomorrow on the lake to see if i can get the ski doo.

Yeah the kit whacked off my top end by at least 10 MPH. It won't run over 90 now even after 6 miles straight stretch on the lake. After I've done drag racing in mid march the kit is coming out and back to stock she goes. I like the increased out of the hole performance but the top end now sucks big time. ![Banghead :o| :o|](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/banghead.gif)

Wow....that sucks! I could maybe accept a loss of a couple of mph on topend, but definately not 10.

well
is there anything you can do to your vector besides nitrous and turbo to inprove your top end. Has anybody put nitrous on their vector yet.

I'm running Ulmer Racing Stage 3 Clutch Kit. Weights, multi angle helix, primary and secondary spring. Real gains at both low end trail performance and picked up top end as well. Was really impressed with the changes and adjustabiltiy of the Super Tip weights. Was able to keep top end speed when matched against friends XC 700, he used to pull away at top end but no longer does. Allen (Srxspec) is very helpful with making changes/adjustments. On hardpack grades able to get 110 on dream meter, not sure about gps speed but definetly better than stock setup. Give Ulmer Racing a try, kits work great. ![Div20 ;)! ;)!](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/div20.gif)

ok I can't knock the goodwin kit anymore. My flo commander was the culprit. It was making my engine run so much better with the carbs synced that it threw the RPM's for a loop. I changed the spring setting on the secondary and the RPM;s went down alowing it to upshift to high gear. My top end is back!!!

Freak what was up with your Flo Commander? I have one installed on my Vector (main and pilot) and have not had any issues. Can you explain more? The Flo Commander helped me eliminate the lag I used to have when slamming shut on the throttle, I think it was a good install/kit to add. I have not had any RPM issues with it and have my Stage 3 Ulmer Kit working pretty good, reving out now to about 8700 rpm. Top end is good, got 110 the other day on flat grade.

Well the problem wasn't bad. It was running so much more efficient than stock that it actually threw the clutch kit out of whack. The clutch kits were tested on a stock vector and the recommended settings were not right after adding the flo commander. My flo commander when tuned properly has increased my RPM's enough that I had to play with the spring on the secondary clutch to tune it right. It was revving to 9100-9200 RPM's with the recommended settings. I can hit 115 on the lake I live on any given day now. At least on the dream meter.
