Was just at my local Yamaha dealer and they had a new apex in with 3 miles on it and it blew a coolant hose off. Lucky he stopped in time, they found one coolant hoses end off and the rest were loose. They tried to call yamaha tech but they are off for the holiday. I sure hope this is just a fluke or Yamaha may have a problem with coolant hoses not tightened down. The big problem is getting at the hoses as they are under the motor.

Thats not a common problem, just an oversight on that particular unit. The hose just wasn't pushed on all the way.

Coolant hoses, recovery tank
I was giving my sled a once-over checking any fasteners that I can get at and what I noticed is the small coolant recovery tank was loose-bolt was tight, but the tank could move up and down freely-removed the bolt and placed a rubber washer between the coolant tank and the mounting tab on the sled-now it is snug and very little movement.
Side note, this recovery tank has the "cold" coolant level mark on it-the tank was dry-wouldn't have noticed it without taking the sled aprat to check it over.
Sure wouldn't care to have to work on one of these along the trail, but then again, that's why I bought it-to ride, not fix!
