Guys I ride an SRX and I don't think I can handle the crappy suspension much longer, how much better are the Apex/Attack suspensions then the SRX. I've never ridden a 4 stroke let alone one with the new suspension, I'm used to getting pounded like hell and would like to hear some comments.

thanks,

Deek

Not even words can tell you how much better the Attak & other Apex models are!!!

Best money you can spend ever in the sports history!!!

Good Luck!!!

I rode a SRX for 1 season. Got pounded. Put in a Viper skid for the next season. Got pounded. Bought a 05 RX-1. Man.. what a difference. Just got a Attak. Even better than the 05 RX-1. So smooth over the bumps it's like riding a fat chick.
I tweaked the SRX and Viper skids to no end. Same result. Plain suck compared to the mono shock.

Can't relate to the fat chick thing... Don't drink anymore. LOL

I owned an '01 SRX then an '04 Viper S. I now have an '06 Attak. Words cannot describe the improvement the Attak offers, you simply won't believe the ride. The Attak (& my buddy's RTX) rail around turns, gobble the bumps, are incedibly smooth, sound awsome & won't kick your a$$. Buy one, you won't be disappointed.

I owned in the past a 98 and 2001 SRX. Just moved up to the Apex this year. The SRX out handle's the new Apex's in the smooth stuff but the ride has really improved over the SRX. The Apex is a little tippy in the twistes. Power is very good similar to a good running SRX. Not sure which sled has longer legs as there has not been much snow here

ride

I just went from an 02 viper w/ohlins all the way around to a apex gt , my first ride of the year was 225 miles , woke up the next day and did not have one sore bone in my body , not one ...on the other hand hear is my sales pitch , im parting out the viper and am selling a long trak kit , and all four ohlins shocks , would be cheaper then the 4 banger but ..im not going to lie to ya , even with 2000 dollars of shocks it is still night and day , you wont be sorry you spent the 9000 - 10000 , not just the ride but everything is better about the new sleds to me .....

I owned 3 SRX's 98,00, and 01" They were great when it was flat but when it got rough I was scared to ride hard.

I now have a Attack and puts the the SRX to shame. Not sure it corners as well but it coners very good and eats the bumps like there not there!!!!

I sold my beloved SRX this fall and moved to an '03 RX1. Yes, '03! The ride on those two sleds is night and day. I was grinning ear to ear from the upgrade in ride quality from the SRX to the RX1. I'd always have to ride on the gas tank with my knees flexed and ready to stand when hitting the bumps. On the RX1, it's a real joy just to sit back and know that it will take 'em and not jolt me to high heaven. I also have an Attak and it's worlds ahead of the RX1 I ride.

Not dis'n the SRX, I had 6600 great miles on my '02, but my enjoyment in riding has skyrocketed. Although I like going fast and super acceleration, you can rarely do it 100 percent of the time. However, your butt's in the saddle 100 percent of the time and I'd rather keep the bruises and soreness away. The RX1 I have is no slouch....really can't tell much of a difference power wise from the SRX. The Attak is simply awesome. Glad I made the change, although each sled (SRX, Attak, Apex, Venture, Viking, etc..) has its place somewhere on the snow. You remind me of myself last year at this time.

Make the change, you'll not regret it. (Plus, you won't have to clean them damn powervalve anymore).

I forgot to add that many people have small complaints about working on the new sleds. Personally, I don't mind it. It's no more work than lifting the hood and pulling three pipes and a silencer when having to check the chaincase fluid. Working the new ones is easy with the great access you have when the panels come off.

Sorry, I know it's not ride related but it goes along with the new sleds...

ride quality

thanks for the posts, I have a trip planned this weekend but I'm kind of not looking forward to it because I know the trails wil be hell, maybe next year new attak!!

Deek, try those sleds out at a Yamaha ride event. You won't believe your body after riding one. Its hard to believe that they could improve the ride quality on these sleds, but they did. I don't think it could possibly get any better than this. My wife and I rode the '03 RX and the '06 Apex GT all weekend, it was interesting to trade every now and then to see the differences.
