MY OLD APEX GETTING TIRED, THINKING OF UPGRADING TO XTX APEX.SOME GOOD DEALS OUT THERE

MOSTLY TRAIL RIDING, WHAT IS RIDE QUALITY OF XTX LIKE COMPARED TO MY TWISTED SPRING REVALVED MONO ?

SEE ALOT F PEOLPE PUTTING STAR SUSPENSION KITS ON. WHAT IS THE REASON ?

What year XTX we talking about? 11-15 they were 144”. A 146” was only offered in 16-17 with the Singleshit skid. If you are used to a well tuned Mono skid you’ll likely find the 144” CK skid rides very harsh, but takes the big stuff well. The star kit softens it up a bunch, but it will never ride as plush. I had my 11 XTX close, through a ton of tuning, but could bottom it on REALLY big stuff. For what it’s worth, I’m back to a custom valved/sprung Mono skid again, and prefer it.

i own a 16 xtx with the up graded 18 shock. with the stock shock, yes the ride sucked. i am happy so far with the upgraded shock with the settings mrsled reccomended.

i also own a 2011 xtx without the star kit. once i got the right springs on it, i loved how it rode and handled.

as i have never rode a well set up mono, went from full olins 05 rx war to the 11, i cannot compare it to the 16-18 apex xtx's. i do know that hygear is making a spring set up for them to take out the air shock that they come with. a few members have this on their sled.
