I just bought a blue 2007 std Attak from a good friend with 4400 miles on it. It has the standard HPG coil over front shocks. If I were to upgrade to a better set I have been looking at some GYTR piggy backs like what the GT models had on them or some Fox Float II air shocks. Both sets of the mentioned shocks are brand new. Just looking for some opinions on what to buy. I would throw Ohlins in the mix too if I knew of some available but I haven't seen any out there.
Any opinions are welcome.

Hmm, no opinions what is the better of the two shocks for the front suspension? The Fox floats will cost me about $100-150 more for the pair than the GYTR piggy back shocks (black ones).

I have jumping back and forth with my buddy that has a 40 yr Anniv LTX and his does ride much better with the Ohlins. I would like to upgrade the front with the above mentioned instead of doing a rebuild when the time comes.

There is really nothing much wrong with what you have stock unless you are really fussy & ride in a lot of changing conditions.
I have Fox Float X's on my Turbo Apex XTX [previously had the Fast Shocks] , Float 2's on my Stock Apex SE & had GYTRS on my 06 Apex GT & Ohlins on my Supercharged RX 1.
All round my first choice is the Ohlins, Second GYTR's, Third the Fasts, fourth the Fox Float X's, 5th the Float 2's.
GYTR's are a great Shock and very tuneable.

It seems they dive more than the Ohlins but that has come to be more noticeable after the Big Boy spring was added to the back which makes it sit higher. The previous owner put the BB spring on. I could have probably done without it. He also installed a 2" bar riser which I don't like either. He was 6'6" over 300 lbs. I am 6'1" and around 200 lbs. When I last rode it, before I owned it, it had neither of these items. I may pull BB spring off and as said add the GYTR shocks and drop the bars to stock.

Sounds like you have a good plan.
You should not need the big boy at 200.

I can get or build any Ohlins shock one could ever want. The real question... is it in the budget? The best is not inexpensive.
