Whoa guys.
flmcut1, DO NOT start plugging bigger fuses in. That's just plain unsafe. Worst case scenario and your new baby goes up in flames (and maybe your trailer, garage, house, etc go with it.) I have seen this happen.
Sorry guys but just going to higher amp fuse is not the correct way to find out why you're blowing fuses in the first place. Even if no worst case, you can still damage other components in the circuit by allowing more amps to flow before blowing the bigger fuse.
flmcut double check your work, double check the componetent for amp draw, check with your dealer if you can't figure it out. You may even have to install your own wiring connection. But never purposely exceed a clearly stated amperage capacity on a circuit unless you know it can handle it.
Ok, I'll quit acting like Dad now. Sorry I blew up...

Why on earth did yam go with the cig style rather than an RCA plug? I am willing to bet that 90% of us would have rather had a prewired RCA plug. There must some electrical parts supplier that has a conversion from a cig lighter to a RCA plug.

That cig lighter plug was not intended to run all your acc, its for a battery charger for a cell phone or gps or something with low draw. You cany hot wire anything you want as you see you will blow fuses and you will over load the wires, not safe. I would tap it off the battery, to me would be the best bet, like a boat would normally have it...you want a regulated power source.

Yooper is right. Run it directly to the battery and put a 2 amp fuse inline and then you won't burn up your $80 shield and USE an ampmeter
