Apex Clutch and Gear Upgrade???

The only advantage to the P85 is the ability to easily change belt gap...not a big deal for trail guys. Not worth actually buying a new clutch...

The AC helix's are cheaper to buy...but again...not worth the effort of changing jack shafts...oh, and the roller probably backshifts better but I would think it would be easier and cheaper just to buy a roller that fits if you're into that.

I don't understand the 40% cheaper...cheaper then what?

Someone show me A link to someone who actually makes A jackshaft for the RX sleds.... I dont think there are any. Maybe for Exciters and Vmaxs but I have never seen one for A RX.

Not that I wanna run An AC secondary. I am just getting tired of people saying that you can. AND A P-85 wont fit on A Yamaha Engine. It will fit on certain older Ski-doo shafts but It will not fit on A Yamaha 4 stroke.

Untrue...
Bolts right on, my buddy runs it in 2 out of 3 of his turbo RX1's.

I sit corrected... I am curious what machine its off. I didnt know Polaris used A metric taper. Them must have A few different ones now I know back in the mid 90s they didnt.

its proven Cat and Pol make better Clutchs . more manuverability
Thats a very steep claim. And totally unsubstantiated. Please provide your evidence for making this wild claim.

Button secondarys are outdated. They don't backshift worth a dime either compared to a roller.

Someone (Jannety?) sells a new secondary that uses Cat helixes. Slicker than #*$&@. Cat helixes are less than HALF the cost of Yammy. Hence allowing a wider range of tuneability at a more economical price.

LB, 'unsubstantiated'? LOL!! coming from you?!!

I love my Yammy Primary. Simple to change springs!!

I do remember Polaris using 2 different tapers in the early 90's, twins and triples.

Someone got a COMET catalog to look at? It'll show the tapers!

Ahh, here we go...

Strange, they're all 30mm 1:10 taper bore!
Remember, Polaris is (was) a FUJI motor!

i have ran polaris clutches on my v max 4,s and on a sx700 and they were bar none the best performing clutch on the yammys. easy to set and go. i ran one on my max 800 and got 2500 miles out of one belt. Of course the poo clutch does not last nearly as long as a yammy so when its went poo i put the yammy back on. killed belts fast and not near the pull. i really thing with the 4 strokes it dont really matterr no more
