2012 Apex XTX 2017 Sidewinder LTX-LE
I am in the process of going thru my 2012 XTX to make sure it is in tip top shape. Just got done going through the exhaust and putting new copper donuts on her. so I got from the seat to the tunnel + the exhaust all cleaned and adjusted and parts replaced. next is to bring the front down to the engine change oil and filter clean everything check/clean clutches...ect. Then pull rear suspension and clean grease replace repair anything in there. The plan to sell this machine as I just brought home my new Sidewinder. I don't believe in selling junk ever unless that is the way it was presented. I did have a super charger on this machine and it did go down while ridding the sled. alum dust had gotten thru to the intercooler and even on intake boots so I was worried about the motor. I did put 800 hard miles on it after removing the SC last year and it kept up with 2 2011 XTX's just fine but to be overly sure I did pull plugs and do a compression test and all 2 were 170psi and 2 were 175 psi. is that well in the safe range for this motor? I plan to ask top dollar for it when I sell it and want to be sure it is worth it 100%. I have put a lot of time and money into this sled over the years I have had it and don't get me wrong not a single mile was an easy mile on her but she always got every bit of maintenance she needed so she could take it over and over again. I just want to be sure the compression is good before I continue prepping her for her new owner. thanks.

Compression sounds fine.

Last one I checked were 175 to 180.
I agree with Tom.
Motor is good compression wise.

Thanks guys I figured as much. I thought I had heard 220 psi somewhere so I wanted to double check. It runs like a champ too. Testament to Yamaha engine building. Eat a supercharger and didn't miss a beat unreal!! Like I say I have 800 miles on her after she ate it and still just as strong as the other 2 I run with so I think it is still a good sled. Just blows my mind!!
