I had posted on an earlier thread the cracked pivot arm. Yamaha-ha-ha would not supply replacement at first
but used some arm twisting
and they then provided me with the old style pivot arm....
so we took to the welding bench....here are some pix that may help anyone thinking of providing some extra support

wow! I just had mine welded up (several cracks) but doesn't look anyhting that. Nice job!

Thanks - I thought webbing it out like this would decrease any tendancy to twist and it doesnt really add much weight. Just sent everything off to Brian "welterracer" for powder coat.I will post pix of the completed item if you like.

You should also reinforce the arm brackets at rail connection they also tend to break, now that you've got every other point done it might become the WEAK spot...I have a post of the BEEFED up '08 take a quick look on how they did it... 3rd pic

Thank you...to be honest I think it was your posting of the new 08 pix that gave me the idea!
I thought we had more or less copied the Yamaha modifications including where it is strengthened at the rail would you mind taking a look at the pic 343 above and let me know if this is what you mean ?
