I've never greased my driveshaft or jackshaft bearings before. When doing this I noticed there is allot of play in the drive shaft. Is this normal? Or does the chain need to be tightened? Or something else? Here is a link to a short video I posted on YouTube. Thanks

Put the secondary back on and rock it back and forth...then tighten the chain bolt finger tight...rock again...check finger tight, then back off a 1/4 turn. Done.

That little bit of slack is by design to allow the reverse system to mesh properly I believe.

I took my chaincase apart last year for this reason thinking the chain was stretched only to find the play is made to be there. As the one gentleman said its for the reverse so the gears cam mesh correctly. perfectly normal
