Apex exhaust gaskets worn out

I have a 06 Apex GT with about 7,000km's on it. The machine just went in for service and I was told that the 4 exhaust gaskets at the 2 Y pipe connections are completely worn out as well as 1 of the Y pipe ports cracked. This is apparantly from not replacing the gaskets in time. This is the first I have heard of the premature gasket wear and potential cracking of the Y pipe ports if not replaced in time. Anyone out there heard of this before?

gaskets

I have heard of this but they will usually last a lot longer. I just replaced mine this year with 7200miles and they were still good. When they do start to wear they will go very quick. Tell tale sign is exhaust getting louder.

Exhaust

Mine has 3500 miles on it and would backfire every time I let off the throttle over 40 mph. Found two of the four doughnuts were gone, blown right out. Pain getting to them also. Should be good for a season.

Yep,

common problem. As soon as you hear it start backfiring, check those gaskets. All four of mine were gone and I too burned a hole in the Y pipe. $400 for parts (discounted) and I was back on the sled.
