I'm looking for an Apex. I uncovered the differences in the Apex, GT, ER and RTX. Don't know what the Attack is and also What is the ES , LTX and XTX are about. I Ride groomed trails in NH mostly and currently own a Venture 2-up. Looking for a single to ride when the other half isn't. Some of the trails around the Lake area get narrow, a bit bumpy, twisty. any help appreciated.

Caveman , maybe in your area , and has the Apex XTX , and swears by it .I'm looking for an Apex. I uncovered the differences in the Apex, GT, ER and RTX. I have the same sled , and am very happy , with the upgrade from shorty to the XTX .
SAB1, the attack is a 136" suspension monoshock you can find these in model year 06 and 07. The gt version of the attack is 07 same shocks as apex gt in 06 and 07. I believe you mean se not es . The se versions sometimes have upgraded shock packages and or color changes. The ltx sleds are similar to the attack with 136" monoshock suspensions. Yamaha changed the name to apex ltx in 08. I believe that 2010 the ltx was changed to the monoshock II which changed the bogey wheels to ones that hade removable bearings and rear axel got bigger in dia. The xtx came out in the apex in '11 it is 144" with tipped up rails at the back to keep some of the track off the snow on groomed trails and still give you the extra length to bridge bumps and the added traction in deeper snow. The apex line also got power steering in 20011 along with the exup valve so hp was raised. The differences in ride are the biggest things the monoshock sleds are more plush at trail speeds ,and ,the xtx suspension can really be ridden hard. Their is alot of information on this site about all of the changes that you can make to any of these suspensions to make them fit your riding style and weight.

What year are you thinking of buying? Some models that you have mentioned are not available in all years.I'm looking for an Apex. I uncovered the differences in the Apex, GT, ER and RTX. Thanks much! Yes I meant SE. I am trying to find something in the 08/09 years as it fits my budget. For some reason these years are not showing in used arena in my area. Everything is 06/07 or 11 and newer. I saw an '11 SE with only 1800 miles on it for 7600 bucks which seems like a good price. I also saw an ' 11 XTX with 2800 miles for 7800. These are above my range but in my mind.
