I just purchased an apex mtn seat and after looking back at the pictures it looks the same as the one I already have. The only difference is the gray stripe is in a different position. ?

When I purchased mine it measured 1.5" higher than my Attak seat. Might have been because my fat butt had crushed the Attak seat. The foam is much stiffer in the MT seat. My Mountain Mod was another 1" taller and significantly lighter with about the same stiffness. I am now running a Boss Hirise and it's too stiff LOL. Hope this helped !!

The mtn seat is the same height as the stock cushy one but it wont sag when you sit on it and it actually works like its 1-2" taller because you easily sink that much in the stocker.
Your correct the stripe on the bottom of the seat is the mtn with firmer foam, the stripe in the middle is softies.

No the striping has to do with 06 or 07. The mtn seat I'm getting is an 07 with the grey stripe in the middle. My 06 apex seat has a gray stripe on the bottom.

I went from an 06GT to an 08 MTX and the seat is much more ridable now. Before it felt like I sunk down and was riding on the exhaust pipes and now the MTX seat compresses just enough to keep me on the seat.

I got my Mountain seat today and its the same seat I already have. Both seats do not squish very much. They feel pretty firm but still not enough hight for me.
I read the RTX has a firmer seat like the MTN apex but I was told not until 07.

i have an 06 rtx and dont think the seat is firm.
i was actually thinking about adding 2inches to the foam this summer.

Maybe the last owner put on the mountain seat. I'm going to try and find another apex to compare it to.
I'm still going to add a couple inches to it.

Let me know if you get the stock cover to stretch over the added inches- I talked to an upholster and he didn't think that the cover would fit- I have heard multiple times that it would...who knows.
