APEX MTX OR NYTRO MTX

HEY GUYS COMING BACK TO YAMAHA THIS NEXT SEASON AND CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT TO GET A APEX MTX OR NYTRO MTX I LIKE THE FACT THE APEX HAS A 162 THE TRACK WILL GET CHANGED TO A CAMO EXTREME RIGHT AWAY BUT LOOKING FOR SOME INPUT AND HOW DID THE APEX GAIN 12LBS FROM O8 TO 09?

the length of the track is forsure an issue however you can lengthen it, but the width is also an issue that i am hung up on i think that 1" makes a huge diff (my opinion) nytro @ 15" apex @ 16". the only other big issue i have with the nytro is the angle of the steering shaft, if you put a riser on that and angled it up where it is suppose to be it would change your steering huge, instead of steering traditionally you would be moving your handle bars and riser from side to side (unless i am mistaken) i dont think i would like that.

im not sure why the apex is heavier this year but i think it would be easy to get rid of that 12 lbs. and then some i have my apex down to about 550 actuall that was before i put the 174 track on im not sure what it is now.

as you can tell i am partial to the apex

I would say ride each and decide. I haven't spent much time on the Nytro but from what time i have i believe the way i ride they feel almost the same the nytro just has quicker handling if that makes sense. the apex is slower to respond to rider imput more predictable and smoother. I almost sold the apex and went nytro before i rode one. I couldn't see giving up the track length fuel capacity more power and the heated rails. Don't get me wrong I love the nytro just love the apex a little more

i Love APEX MTX, friend has Nytro MTX but im not so impressed..

he even get stucked in my tracks..

i try my friend short track nitro and love it but don't know about the mtx

I Love my apex MTX

Pros
Good power
Good rider position
Great track (maverick is perfect for the kind of snow we got (deep powder) paddle curve a bit but not that much )

Cons
Weight 50 lbs lighter would be a good things (if you run stock motor)
narrower seat (at the calf height )
a bit higher windshield (i change mine)

even my rx1m can do circle around a nitro, and i was looking gona get 1 till i saw it go now im waiting for the 4cyl in the fx if they decide to make it

I like my Apex boosted and have tried a Nytro mtx without boost was good feeling machine but lacked power. I have seen some of the modded Nytros with new tunnels and 162's they look good. If your planning to ride stock machine I would go apex, if you planning to mod everything go nytro.

I think the 12 lb weight diff is because reverse went from optional to standard.

WELL ORDERED THE APEX DID THE DEMO RIDE SPENT ALOT OF TIME ON THE APEX AND REALLY LIKED IT OVER THE NYTRO JUST SEEMED TO HANDLE BETTER JUST MY 2 CENTS!!!
