Can anyone verify that this is one improvement Yamaha forgot to make on the 2006 RX-1 (aka Apex)?

Should be a lot easier to get to though which is the issue.

Why would it be any easier? The battery is still on top of it.

I'll bet that separator solves a lot of oil use issues. Feel bad for Freddie tho, filters are going to be tough to fit and probably tough to improve upon the stock airbox.

It looks a lot more open with the panels off more room and the panels are easier to take off and put on.

might not be too bad of an idea buying a filter relocater kit for the 06...i think there like $150...but its a pain in the #*$&@ to take out the battery and holder everytime. just an idea!?

Guys after your 1st oil change you shouldnt have to change it again for 10,000 miles....its no the same as a cycle engine, with the dirty air in the summer, the wet clutches and all the other metal shavings that come from a gear box....
Mine would be out of oil at 3,000 miles!!HAHA
