Can I lay my Apex on its side for studding like I could with a 2 stroke? I assume the dry sump system would prevent any oil problems but I wanted to check here before doing it.

Avoid putting it on its left side as oil will dump from the tank into the sump, and possibly leak out the breather. The breather was redesigned for 06, but I don't know to what extent.
why lay it on its side, take the back bolts out of each side of the suspension and lift it in the air, should give u more than enough room

Just lift it into the air,the rear only and tie your snowflap up out of the way and you will have plenty of room to drill and install all the studs you can put in it..

Engine lifts work really well to lift with. Get it up till you can sit behind it comfortable, and go to town.

LB is right, put it throttle side down. Once it is right side up, hold the throttle wide open throttle and no choke to start.vice108 said:Can I lay my Apex on its side for studding like I could with a 2 stroke?

Leave the choke in and the throttle wide open, or the opposite of how you normally start the sled. The engineers on here can explain why, but a dealer showed me the trick and it works.
While on a trip in Houghton, the dealer did some work on one of the guy's Warrior and he put the sled on its side. We all wondered how he was going to start it once finished. He righted the sled, made the sure the choke was fully closed, held the throttle wide open, and it started right up. No fluids left the sled.

I think the new FI would eliminate those problems.

Yep, you're probably right about that. Keep forgetting the sleds have EFI. Still put the sled throttle side down though.
