Need your help here, anyone owned both of these sleds? I had a 08 nytro for 3 seasons and loved it but lack of snow pushed me to sell. Then i picked up a phazer but sold it ( no power ). I want a machine to do trips with but would have to put a trail tank on the nytro but love the rider forward design for comfort. Never tried the apex but lots of good things about them. Any major benefits for the apex? Not buying new, but looking for one a season old and low mileage. I do like to cruise but still like to tear it up when out with boys. My riding buddies mostly ride brp so i love to show them yamaha reliability when we ride. Thanks

Love them both! I had both sleds for 3 years and have recently switched from my Apex GT to a Nytro RTX-SE. I ride dirtbikes and ATVs so the Nytro fits my riding style better. My Apex was modded and ran very strong. The Nytro has a ton of torque and holeshots very close with the Apex, but the Nytro lacks the top speed of an Apex. The lakes and rivers, Apex is king. I really like the ride of the Nytro better because I like to go off trail boondocking and the suspension is better on the rough trails, but that is simply my riding style. I will be heavily modding the Nytro this off season to see if I can get the legs of the Apex next year. :-o

I love the Apex over the nytro. 1 power, 2 the sound, 3 long ride comfort, 4 10 gallon tank, 5 fells better built. I have an 06 Apex RTX 144", 08 Apex MTX and an 09 Nytro XTX(wifes).

I have had alot of fun on my nytro xtx. I ride at least 50% or more off trail though. My attak was a great sled but after getting comfortable (taller riser/seat and suspension dailed) I couldnt ride a apex and be comfortable. Trying to sell my xtx but dont know what to replace it with considering line up of the 2012's from yamaha. I can get 100 miles a tank so fuel has never been a issue where I ride.

I also race atvs and am quite used to the seating position of the nytro. I can still buy my 08 nytro back from the guy i sold it to but thinking of the apex for the advantages of being more comfortable on longer tris but keep hearing of rear suspensin issues fr the apex such as valving and major icing. Considering the price of a apex then to valve the shocks or replace the skid with a zx2 starts getting expensive. I can get a 09 apex gt ltx with 1600k for 8500 or buy my 08 nytro rtx for about 6500 with 5000k. Would have to put a trail tank on the nytro if i go that route. Just dont know what to do! Think i am just getting old!

I own an Attak (same sled as an Apex LTX) and love it. I've never owned a Nytro but I ride with several guys who ride them so I've logged many miles on different models. From those experiences I've realized the Apex chasis and the Nytro are night and day apart. So I think what it comes down to is personal preference. You gotta ride a couple of properly dialed in models of each sled and make the call which sled would fit your riding style better.

Its a chore when my riddn pal wants to swich sleds for awhile, i dont like driving the nytro. But he loves it, my apex just feels smoother and i dont mean suspension. Im in love with ridin my apex and its matched perfectly with the 144" track to put the power down. My buddys nytro xtx feels like your pulling around a trailor, i wouldnt mind trying a nytro rtx 121" to see if it rides better.
